After so much rumor and hype, the most anticipated Apple iPhone finally launched in the global mobile phone market. According to Steve Jobs, the CEO of Apple company, its a revolutionary phone and offers features that have never been incorporated in any other handsets in the same line up. The company has already got huge popularity with its iPod - a slim and sleek MP3 player that delivers superb sound quality, more space to accommodate and are available at an affordable price range.

As mobile phones have become a necessity in our daily lives, it was really an intelligent decision to launch an Apple iPhone. As far as phone design and features are concerned, its a Widescreen, touch-controlled iPod, a mobile phone as well as an Internet communicator - all three broad stuffs have been squeezed into a slim profile.

The device runs on OS X - an operating system that comes with full fledged applications, allowing users to add more software applications with ease. This complete touch screen phone does not have any keys or a stylus. It has a large screen, a 3.5cm with a high resolution. With its multi touch input method, it prevents any accidental touches and presses, providing more accuracy with touch input. Whenever required, you can use a QWERTY keypad that is displayed on the screen and its easier to type on, automatically detects spelling mistakes.

The Apple iPhone comes with an interesting features including iTunes CoverFlow that runs on the Widescreen mode. It plays videos, music and photos. You can also zoom in and zoom out your favourite photos. The iPhone comes with an integrated 2.0 MP camera. Supported with either 4GB or 8GB of space - it allows more music, videos, images and other data files.

Its a quad band GSM phone with EDGE support. The most disappointing thing about this phone is the absence of 3G/WCDMA support. The device runs Safari, the Web browser for mobile Internet. Additional features of the phone are Google Maps, Email support (POP3/IMAP). Sharing of data can be done wirelessly via Bluetooth 2.0 and Wi-Fi for wireless mobile Internet. All these features have been incorporated in a slim device with just 11.6mm thickness.
